Metrohealth hospital proposal released

The city of Lakewood has released a 2014 proposal for Lakewood Hospital submitted by Metrohealth, in response to a public records request made by Northeast Ohio Media Group. The Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has filed an application to add the Curtis block to Lakewood’s list of historic properties. The property, immediately east of Lakewood Hospital, is currently owned by the Lakewood Hospital Association and could be razed as part of plans to redevelop hospital property. If designated a historic property, Lakewood would have to complete a formal review process before any alterations to the building, or demolition.

Save Lakewood Hospital has announced a public rally for this purpose, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18, outside City Hall.
